A late 18th century Rustic cricket table

A charming late 18th century rustic cricket table with original stretchers and traces of historic red paint and unusual V notch in the top. This table with the strengthening stretchers and strong thick top was made for supporting a large hot water samovar or kettle, the notch original and designed to allow the pouring of water or other liquid from the larger vessel into a smaller cup or jug, a fascinating example of Welsh domestic history. The table original throughout and now with wonderful colour, aging and patina.
